Mental health does not exist independent of physical health. For example, getting a good night’s sleep (or not) can make a big difference in our experience of comfort, peace, and balance the next day. Although many of us can easily get through a day uncomfortable and imbalanced, over time the strain of this low-grade suffering is expressed in our physical body. After many years of suffering in this manner, chronic illness manifests as an autoimmune disease, substance addiction, or a mental health crisis. Unique to traditional mental health treatment, the foundation of Movement and Mindfulness is a multi-faceted approach that addresses the distinct individual needs of each client. Working closely with Naturopathic, Functional and Conventional medicine professionals to explore:

 

  • Detoxification concerns

  • Physiological stress management

  • Sleep cycle regulation

  • Supplementation

  • Therapeutic nutrition

 

In addition, daily movement routines and appropriate exercise are individually tailored and/or prescribed to meet evolving personal health goals. Educational resources on nutrition and diet, as well as personalized lifestyle assessments are provided to assist in setting a course toward optimizing resilience and reducing physiological and psychological stress experiences. Lastly, prioritizing transparency with other healthcare providers and prescribers is emphasized to secure a balanced team of support.
